There is something about the winter that makes me want to look at pictures of cozy cabins. Anyone else like that? Luckily, Instagram has no shortage of #cabinporn and cabin eye candy. I decided to spend some time this week checking out wintry, gorgeous, snow covered and fairy light decked VT rentals on Airbnb to compile into a list for you all. Oh my goodness, you guys, Airbnb didn’t let me down.
The first one that caught my attention weeks ago and was the inspiration for this blog post is this off the grid cabin in West Bolton, VT.
According to the listing: “Come savor a secluded escape in the green mountains. Park at our organic homestead, and enjoy a short hike up to your private mountainside retreat. This cozy cabin in the forest is the perfect spot to relax, slow down, and unwind. For adventure seekers, it is the ideal home base. Well maintained hiking trails surround the area. We are minutes from the Long Trail, renowned rock climbing, beautiful swimming holes, kayaking, fishing, golfing, mountain biking, skiing and snowboarding.”
Seriously, how dreamy is that? It looks so peaceful and like a fantastic place to unwind for a few days.
The next one I stopped scrolling at is this cabin with a Sauna in Marshfield, VT.
According to the listing: “The Hyggelig Hytte is a one of a kind Nordic inspired cabin and sauna located in the heart of the Green Mountains. 30 mins north of Montpelier deep in the woods. Glamping and leaf peeping fun! Rustic romanic, hobo hideaway, bohemian hermitage, nordic nook.”
Who wouldn’t want to be snowed in at a sugar house cottage? This listing for the sugar house cottage at Jay Peak-Shéady Acres in Montgomery, VT jumped right out at me.
According to the listing: “Everyone wants the Vermont experience which can be achieved in this romantic/honeymoon cottage. The traditional sugar shack copula lets in great natural light and the rough pine siding was locally harvested along with the floors that were locally milled wide plank pine. The unique trim is “spalted maple” from a maple tree that was lying in the forest about fifty feet from the cottage and milled on site with an Alaskan sawmill.”
While flipping through rentals, you know what caught my attention about this one? The bright colorful books and natural light. What relaxing spot to catch up on the pile of books on your side table! This next pick in Montpelier, VT looks like something right from a magazine.
According to the listing: “In the heart of Vermont, the Cottage is the perfect getaway for couples and honeymooners. It’s completely private with it’s own deck and access to the gardens and forest. Beautifully renovated with touches with of old and new. Incredibly cozy and well-loved. You can’t go wrong.”
Lastly, this one is legit a tree cabin with a HOT TUB. The snowy picture of the hot tub on this Waterford, VT listing looks like absolute perfection.
According to the listing: “The cabin is a great place to escape from it all! The custom made cedar hot tub is hot and ready all winter. Cold, snowy nights make for excellent tub time!! Inside the cabin is warm and has the comfort of home. Want to ski? Two ski resorts are 30 minutes from us.”
Next, I decided to group together a few of my favorite Instagram accounts for general wooded, snowy, cabin filled goodness. Searching the appropriate hashtags with IG’s search feature will do the trick, too but these accounts are a few of my favs for general New England eye candy. In no particular order:
